Our Foundational Beliefs
Following is a brief narrative describing what we believe and why we believe it:
The Bible is the mind of Christ and is the inspired, the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
“Infallible” and “authoritative” – two words the world doesn’t like to acknowledge and certainly refuses to conform to! But without understanding these two important words and how and why they are critical to daily functioning, neither the world nor we as Christians can survive. He is infallible and as we believe this we come to realize the importance of becoming Holy even as He is Holy. He is authoritative because He walked under authority as we must walk under authority…even when we don’t want to. Because Christ came to give us “power, love and a sound mind” we believe that He did the same as the authors of the books of the Bible scripted their revelatory thoughts through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
There is one God manifested in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Throughout the Bible, there is clear and defining evidence of these three persons. Although the world (and some other folks, too) would like to argue that the word “trinity” is not mentioned, the only position they have is the sake of their argument. We are one with the Father through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ by the Power of the Holy Spirit – a theme that is repeated in myriad variations in both Testaments.
The reality of Satan and his present control over unregenerate man does exist.
Satan is real because God says he is real. Evil exists; just look around you. Why does evil exist? Because when there is a lack of God, Satan comes in like a flood and directs the actions of anyone who will allow him access. The less evidence of God, the more evidence of evil.
Christianity is based upon the following:
The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ
Rev 3:14 tells us that Jesus is “the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, and the Beginning of the creation of God;” Genesis 1:1 tells us that “in the Beginning” God created…I believe that God created all things in Christ Jesus. He clearly indicates that He is the issue of God and as the issue, is God. Positionally, this is our first reference to His deity, which is substantiated and verified throughout the entirety of each chapter of each book of the Bible.
His sinless life
God made “Him who knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21) to be sin for us by putting all of our sins upon Him (Is 53:6) and then essentially used Jesus as God’s offering to Himself. His shed Blood washed away “our” sins. “Our” is a collective term used by Jesus (Matthew 6:9) as He prayed to “our” father about forgiving “our” sins knowing that the atoning Blood coursing through His body made Him sinless and His actions bore out this testimony. His sinlessness enabled Him to conquer sin and death; without a righteous, Blood-washed/sinless life, sin conquers us; but when we are washed clean by the Blood of the sinless Lamb, we, too, conquer sin and death.
We can, have and shall continue to do what He did and more! Hallelujah! Miracles take place every day; they just don’t get much press. What is a miracle? The supernatural accomplishment of God’s will often in answer to prayer. We lay hands on people “hoping” for a miracle but not sure that it will really happen and sometimes it doesn’t happen. Why? Because of the status of the belief of the one imparting and/or the belief of the one receiving. Miracles take place when faith is not just present but when faith is evident. You have to see it as a done deal in your heart before you lay hands on someone. If the minister doesn’t receive it first, he or she can’t impart it to the one who needs it.
His vicarious and atoning death through His shed Blood
His shed Blood enabled me to live. He took my place and received the punishment I so richly deserved. He gave up a life of no sin to forgive me and wash me even though my life was filled with sin. How precious is that Blood!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His bodily resurrection
Resurrection of the soul is one thing; but bodily resurrection is quite another. There are numerous instances in the Bible about people being resurrected and brought back to life. But they all eventually died…all but One! A sinless, lifeless body lying in a tomb: suddenly lifted up by the power of God and somehow sent straight to Hell. Hell had never seen a real body before, it had only seen the weak souls of sinful man. But now here was this real Man, this real body, this real power, this real God! Now what? Absolutely nothing! With resounding authority, Hell and Death were defeated, unable to hold Him, unable to hold me.
His ascension to the right hand of the Father
How cool is that? Can you imagine being on that hilltop when Jesus went to be with the Father? Can you imagine the power and energy that surrounded His disciples as they witnessed Him levitating toward the heavens? Can you imagine seeing all that and suddenly realizing that everything He said was true and everything He did was real and that if He was leaving this way He really would come back the way He promised. The enormity of the realization of His truth must have been overwhelming. And yet, previously in preparation for this moment, He prayed for those who were with Him to believe, AND for those of us who have followed by believing what they preached (John 17:20). Awesome! As he ascended to the right hand of the Father, let’s consider two aspects of His position: He fulfilled the scripture that declares Him to have dashed the enemy in pieces in strength and power (Ex 15:6); and He answers prayer and saves His anointed (both Christ and the Church) (Ps 20:6).
His personal return in power and glory as Lord of lords and King of kings
He left us for a little while with a promise that He would send a Comforter. He has returned to us in the Person of the Holy Spirit. At the appointed time, the Father, the Holy Spirit, the Christ, and His Church will be reunited in the heavens and they will prepare for the return of the Lord Jesus to claim what is rightly His. His resurrected Body, accompanied by the resurrected saints will conquer and He will be acknowledged as Lord by all those who think they have authority on earth but don’t. Unable to stand before His Presence, they will, on bended knee, declare Him Lord of All.
The fall of man and his lost estate, which makes necessary a rebirth through confession and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ
When Adam and Eve ate that apple, they partook of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Today we are still suffering from the consequences of ingesting that nasty fruit! How many churches today are still feeding their lambs from that same tree? Teaching people how to make better lives for themselves by their actions will never work. We need to eat from the Tree of Life! We need to “eat” Jesus as the Bread of Life, drink Him as the Living Water, and partake of Him as our Life-giving Sustenance! How? By declaring these things out of our mouth. Throughout the Word, God says and Jesus says and the Holy Spirit says; and we’re instructed to do the same thing (Mark 11:23). So how else can something that “is not” be declared as though “it is” unless we declare it with our mouth? When you say something, we all know you can’t take it back! It has been set into motion and like God’s word, it will not return void (Is 55:11). No matter what we do, no matter how nice we act, only the atoning Blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse us from the unholy fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. We have to stop being Adam’s progeny and get reborn and become children of the Living God; and the only way we can do that is to declare that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives…out loud!
The reconciliation of man to God by the substitutionary death and shed Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus is the repairer of the breach (Is 58:12)! When man ate from the wrong Tree, he created a schism that could not be traversed. God on one side, man on the other. I’m sure Adam and Eve never thought they’d reap such drastic consequences from just questioning God and making one little decision on their own. Because of God’s great mercy, He did not leave them without hope; and we see our first sacrificial lamb with its atoning Blood offered on their behalf. This set in motion the pattern which would continue until the One, the Only True Lamb and True God was offered on Calvary’s cross and His Blood was shed and once for all cleansed us from all unrighteousness! Hallelujah! Could we have done it without Him? Of course not! No amount of doing good things or saying the right words or thinking the right thoughts can repair that breach. Only believing on the Name of Jesus and confessing Him as Lord and accepting His atoning and cleansing Blood will restore us to the Father.
The resurrection of believers unto everlasting life and blessing in Heaven, and the resurrection of unbelievers unto everlasting punishment in the torments of Hell
Good triumphs over evil…that’s what the world would like you to believe, but it’s just not true. Only Jesus Christ and His Blood-washed Church can triumph over evil. If we are not partaking of the Tree of Life, we are partaking of fruit that can only bring death; and death can only be overcome by His Name and through His Blood. When the Holy Spirit catches us away, only those who are cleansed and live forever can stand before the Consuming Fire; all others will be lost, burned in their sin with hope of nothing but punishment and the second death. How desperate is their need for our prayers.
The present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit, who bestows the spiritual gifts of: the word of wisdom; the word of knowledge; faith; gifts of healing; working of miracles; prophecy; discerning of spirits; various kinds of tongues; interpretation of tongues in and among believers on the earth since the day of Pentecost and continuing until our Lord’s return
The promises of God are “Yes” in Him and in Him “Amen.” The gifts of the Holy Spirit are promises from God: they are fulfillment of all the things He says He will do; a reminder of all the things that Christ did; and our assurance that we are called and can do the same. We must be the demonstration of His power or how else will they believe? (I Cor 2:4)
We are not here to teach you but to position you to eat the bread of life and live (John 6:35,57) but you must leave religion and its knowledge and come to Christ as enjoyment and nourishment. Christ’s Revelation compels us to overcome the religious practices that have infiltrated the church – the prevalence of eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil when we should be eating of the Tree of Life.
Threefold Institute’s operational and managerial policies are based on the banners of love provided to us through the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John on the Isle of Patmos. We believe the structure of Jesus’ revelation sets well-defined guiding principles to successfully direct Threefold Institute with methodical, practical and yet somewhat flexible strategies.
- The Word is the foundation of all we do, and instructional topics are all-inclusive with nothing taught out of context.
As the Alpha and Omega, Jesus is the Word – the first letter and the last letter creating all words in Himself; He began creation and will end creation; and He is the Firstborn of the Creation of God and the Last Adam. (Revelation 1:8,11)
- The Word is our first and best love and we tirelessly persevere with patience never allowing false teachers to contaminate the work.
- We work, labor and have patience; we do not bear those who are evil; we test those who say they are apostles; we persevere with patience and don’t become weary. But we must never leave our first love and must report and do the first works; we hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans; we will overcome and eat from the Tree of Life. (Revelation 2:1-7)
- The Word is our crown of life that enables us to faithfully and without fear endure any hardship and overcome any attack.
We endure work, tribulation and poverty (even though we are rich); we endure blasphemy from the synagogue of Satan (and churches). But we must not fear any suffering or prison-as-testing; or tribulation; we are faithful until death and will receive the crown of life; we will overcome and not be hurt by the second death. (Revelation 2:8-11)
- The Word is the discerning factor in all we do and is the light that guides us as we overcome false teachers and tainted gospels.
We work in the midst of Satan’s domain and hear Him who has the sharp two-edged sword and we hold fast to His Name in the midst of the darkest of times and places. But we do not adhere to anything of the teachings of Balaam and Balak, we do not eat anything sacrificed to idols and we do not commit sexual immorality; we do not hold to or tolerate anyone who holds to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans – we repent and join the Lord in fighting against them; we will overcome and partake of the hidden manna; we will obtain a new name. (Revelation 2:12-17)
- The Word grows in us as we persevere for continuous improvement and purity of soul in order to resist spiritual adultery.
Our works, love, service, faith and patience are more than at first. But we refuse to let Jezebel (a lying prophetic spirit that teaches and beguiles God’s people and convinces them to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols) teach or share but will require repentance in order to avoid a sickbed and great tribulation; we know God searches our minds and hearts and we are rewarded accordingly; we refuse to know the depths of Satan and will have no other burden put upon us; we will hold fast until Jesus returns; we will overcome, keep His works until the end and He will give us power over the nations. (Revelation 2:18-29)
- The Word keeps us watchful and our instruction is through the perspective of His imminent return in order to alert and strengthen the elect.
We are alive, not dead; we are watchful and we strengthen the things that remain. We have received and heard and we hold fast and repent. We watch for Him. We have not defiled our garments and we walk with Jesus in white and we are worthy; our names are not blotted out of the Book of Life and Jesus confesses us before the Father and His angels. (Revelation 3:1-6)
- The Word is our open door and we come in and go out and find good pasture and the world knows Jesus loves us.
We have an open door no one can shut; we have strength; we have kept His word and not denied His name; everyone (especially the community of Satan) will know that Jesus loves us. We have kept His command to persevere and are kept from the hour of trial and testing. We hold fast to what we have and no one will take our crown. We overcome and will be a pillar in the temple of God. God’s name will be written on us. (Revelation 3:7-13)
- The Word is our passion and stamina and drives our mission with purity and singleness of purpose.
Jesus knows our works and we are not lukewarm and He will not spew us out. We do not think more highly of ourselves than we ought but see ourselves as we really are. We buy from Jesus gold and white garments and anoint our eyes with salve (the balm of Gilead). We accept the Lord’s rebuke and chastening (conviction and convincing) and are therefore zealous and repent. We hear Him knocking and are open to Him and dine with Him. We will overcome and sit with Him on His throne.
